Reasoning Pattern

The bounded operating loop an AI uses for a task: one response, plan-execute, short ReAct exploration or generator-plus-evaluator.

A reasoning pattern describes what happens inside the agent. A bounded answer normally needs one response. A known multi-stage task benefits from plan-execute and checkpoints. Changing evidence may justify a short ReAct loop. A testable quality rubric may justify an evaluator-optimizer loop.

These are not personality labels. Every loop needs limits on iterations, tools, time and cost, plus a defined terminal state.
